You are my people.

I created Makeness because I was unemployable. I was bored and frustrated and my attitude was terrible. I was an idealist who didn’t want to spend my life towing the company line while selling my life for pennies on the dollar. So, I quit my last job. I assumed another was right around the corner. I did have my fancy MBA, after all.

I was, shall we say… less than correct.

Maybe I just didn’t peek around enough corners, but finding a job that was:

a. fun

b. rewarding

c. paid well

d. challenging

e. allowed me to learn and grow

e. didn’t mind dealing with the fact that I wasn’t really willing to work sixteen hour days

…proved harder than expected. Shocker…. I know, right?!!?

Unfortunately, the bills didn’t seem to want to wait for me to find my bliss.

I was brimming with experience and knowledge and was under water completely. I had one freelance gig that allowed me to pay my rent and buy food and keep the lights on, and that was about it.

That’s when I realized that my fancy MBA and impressive resume wasn’t going to keep me warm at night.

So, I decided to start my own business. I followed all the eCourses and read all the tips. I did everything myself because I was too poor to hire anyone for anything. I spent a solid year learning everything the hard way. From WordPress coding to graphic design to how to generate a shopping cart to how to network with the big dogs… I did it all. And all that time, I had absolutely no idea what my business was going to do; I just knew that I wanted freedom, and that meant being online.

I knew that somewhere in all my skills a value proposition would emerge.

And it totally did!

See, In doing everything myself, I discovered that my superpower is helping lovely people like you fill the gaps in your need-to-knows so you can blast off in your own rocket ship.
